Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house with a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with nsfas check combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South nsfas status check African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should website apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
